State Trooper Injured on I-390

COHOCTON-A State Trooper was injured early Friday morning after her vehicle was hit by an alleged drunk driver. State Police say Trooper Nicole Cowdrick’s vehicle was parked on I-390 near the Cohocton exit with its emergency lights on as she was providing traffic control for a disabled vehicle. Her vehicle was hit from behind by Casey Brown, 33, of Corning.

Trooper Cowdrick and Brown were each taken to Noyes Hospital, treated and released.

Brown faces charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Endangerment and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. Brown was arraigned and remanded to Steuben County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Assisting at the scene were the Cohocton Volunteer Fire Department and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.
