Gov. Kathy Hochul: At my direction, @nyspolice are actively working with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force to monitor all points of entry to New York. I am traveling to Buffalo to meet with law enforcement & emergency responders & will update New Yorkers when more information becomes available.
U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand: “I just received a briefing from the FBI about the explosion at the Rainbow Bridge between the U.S. and Canada in Niagara Falls. The FBI and relevant U.S. and Canadian authorities are investigating this incident thoroughly and quickly. I will continue to monitor the situation closely and I urge the public to follow the guidance of the proper authorities. Finally, I want to express my gratitude for the actions of our brave first responders who responded to this situation.”
U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer: I was just briefed by the @FBI on the incident at Rainbow Bridge Initial reports indicate the two people killed were in the car but nothing’s been determined on their identity or motive. They continue to investigate—law enforcement remains on heightened alert over Thanksgiving.
Congressman Nick Langworthy: I am currently monitoring the reports of the explosion at our northern border this morning, and I have been in constant contact with local and federal officials responding to the scene. There is an operational pause at all three international bridges at this time, and federal officials are taking much-needed border security measures. May God bless our law enforcement and first responders.
