Station Church Update: Pastor Says It Was Vandalism

October 27, 2019

NORTH HORNELL, NY – On Sunday morning a vandal (or vandals) broke in and set fire to the Station Church in North Hornell. There were no injuries, but there was much damage, including smoke, water and fire damage. “Well we found out that they broke in through a window, using a sledgehammer, broke down some doors, and they set a fire in our brand new, renovated space,” said North Hornell Station Church Pastor Joel Bolduc. “It was our kid’s space, our coffee area, the new bathrooms, and if the fire department didn’t get there when they did, it could have been a total loss” Pastor Bolduc told Wlea News.

Station Church parishioner and owner of Bullfrog Construction, Elise McCollum says the church held their services anyways. “Our normal church service is 10:30 on Sunday morning, and we were at the Village of North Hornell Fire Department, they set chairs up, we went over and we had our worship service,” McCollum told Wlea News. “God provided, just like he always does.”
