HORNELL, NY – The Steuben County Public Health Department is partnering with Alstom and the International Aerospace and Machinists Union (IAM) Local Lodge 2471 to hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Alstom in Hornell on Thursday, August 19 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
Both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be offered at this clinic for anyone age 12 and older. Registration is preferred at www.steubencony.org/covid, but walk-ins will also be accepted. The clinic is open to anyone who lives or works in New York State, not just Alstom employees or union members. Proof of date of birth is needed for anyone seeking vaccination.
“Alstom and the IAM Union are recognized leaders in the county and wonderful partners to have in the fight against COVID,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “We commend their efforts to protect their employees and the community and are fortunate to have the support to bring about more vaccination opportunities.”
“Alstom is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our employees,” stated Alstom Managing Director, Michael MacDonald. “In addition, when considering friends and family, we can help protect thousands of people in the Hornell area by partnering with Steuben County Public Health and the IAM to offer an onsite and convenient vaccination clinic.”
Alstom will be raffling off a large screen television at the end of the clinic; all individuals who receive their vaccine at this clinic will be eligible. The winner does not need to be present at the time of the drawing.
All clinic attendees must wear appropriate face coverings and will be expected to wait 15-30 minutes after vaccination for observation. Attendees should wear short sleeves or appropriate clothing for vaccination.
Residents currently under isolation or quarantine at the time of the clinic due to a positive COVID-19 test result or as a contact to a positive are not eligible to attend the clinic.
