Steuben Co Public Health: There Were 23 Unreported Covid Deaths

BATH – The Steuben County Public Health Department became aware of 23 unreported COVID-related deaths through a review of death certificates. This new information brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Steuben County to 332.
As noted in previous releases, the COVID-19 related deaths that are reported only come from trusted sources, such as hospitals, nursing homes or via death certificates where COVID-19 is listed as a cause of death.
The deaths occurred between December 4, 2021 and January 12, 2023. Ten females and 13 males died between the ages of 52 and 97. The individuals were residents of the City of Corning (1), City of Hornell (2), Town of Bath (1), Town of Campbell (1), Town of Caton (1), Town of Corning (2), Town of Hornellsville (1), Town of Troupsburg (1), Town of Urbana (1), Town of Wayland (1), Village of Arkport (1), Village of Bath (5), Village of Cohocton (1), and Village of North Hornell (4).
“Our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of all those who passed,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “It is important to share all information related to COVID that we have for residents to make the most informed decisions about their own health.
