Steuben County Emergency Services: FEMA Is Delaying In Getting Steuben Co. Federal $

August 22, 2014

BATH, NY – Steuben County Emergency Services Director Tim Marshall says that over $1,000,000 in federal aid for Steuben County is not getting to the county, because of some sort of red tape at FEMA.

Marshall reports that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved funds for areas in Steuben County, but Marshall noted that FEMA has refused to include the million dollars worth of aid, for damaged roads and bridges during the June 8th storm.

Marshall says that the Steuben County Legislature will send off a formal resolution to Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer, at the Monday, August 25 county legislature meeting.
