Here is an update on that countywide emergency medical program they’re working on setting up, at the Steuben County Emergency Services and County Managers offices. The county is looking to hire Part-Time EMTs, Paramedics and social workers for the new countywide Emergency Medical Services program. “Steuben County is now in the position of advertising for the positions of emergency medical technicians and paramedics,” County Manager Jack Wheeler tells Wlea News. “These are part time positions and we are in hopes of getting applicants. As we’ve discussed, the county is in the beginning stages of providing supplemental emergency services throughout the county. Now we’re not talking about hiring dozens of staff members at this time, as we’re just going to start a supplemental EMS program. However, we think that this is a good way to build a a system: by identifying the gaps, and fill them and build from there,” Wheeler said this morning.
