BATH, NY – From Steuben County Legislative Spokesperson Mary Perham:
The Steuben County Legislature officially requested Monday the current state of emergency imposed by New York State be lifted, giving county officials the ability to set suitable guidelines for local operations.
While some legislators cited concerns about the recent spike in COVID-19 cases and uncertainty over recent reports of the virus in school systems in Steuben, others said the county now has the ability, working under appropriate state guidance, to address operational issues as they arise. The request will be forwarded to the state Governor and Legislature.
