Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski (R, Canisteo) says, there is a bill on Governor Kathy Hochul’s desk, to put Steuben County in a new judicial district. That district would include Livingston. Allegany, Cattaragus and Chautauqua counties. Currently Steuben County is in a district with Monroe, Livingston, Ontario, Yates Seneca Wayne and Cayuga counties.
Sempolinski also says that this will make it so Democrats likely hold most of the state supreme court seats.
