Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney is proposing legislation to help VA Hospitals provide funding for disabled veterans to be able to buy things like ramp and kneeling systems, lowered floors, and mobility device lifts. Tenney say this ensures that veterans will obtain necessary adaptations for their vehicles and that they get support in regaining independence. The congresswoman also has other bill to help vets, transition into civilian life. One deals with seeing-eye dogs and dogs used for similar reasons by veterans. Another bill helps veterans with PTSD or traumatic brain injury. Tenney says this is a program that helps in connecting veterans with their peers allows them to confide in peers they can trust, in addition to trained VA civilian staff.
“My top priority is making sure every veteran has the tools they need, whether it’s timely healthcare, housing support, or assistance transitioning to civilian life,” said Congresswoman Tenney. “This plan delivers real results and ensures our veterans are treated with the dignity they deserve.”
