On the WYSL/WLEA Next Steps show yesterday, Chris Olix from the Canisteo Historical Society spoke about how he is raising money to restore and finish a Civil War era/Union Soldier monument at the Hope Cemetery in Hornell. The monument was being built in 1890 and was never finished. On the Next Steps Show, Olix explained the options he’s looking at, to get the names of local Civil War veterans on the monument.
