FROM THE NYS DOT: The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of the following traffic pattern changes at Hornell Plaza in the Village of North Hornell, Steuben County, beginning at 6 a.m., Monday, July 27, to accommodate intersection work for a previously announced project:
Access to State Route 36 from Hornell Plaza will be limited to the southern (McDonald’s) end
The entrance into the northern end of the Plaza from State Route 36 may experience intermit closures
The work is anticipated to last 10 days and be completed by the end of the day on Friday, August 7.
Motorists should anticipate travel delays during this time and are advised to seek alternate routes if necessary. Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
