The D.O.T. Reminds Truck Drivers To Check Bridge Heights

July 28, 2025

The New York State D.O.T. put out a statement saying that truck drivers need to be very careful when driving under bridges. The D.O.T. says, a truck drivers GPS won’t tell you your truck’s height, or the bridge’s height either. That online statement also has a video of trucks after they’ve smashed into bridges.

FROM THE NYS DOT:

✅ Your GPS can get you from A to B.
❌ But it doesn’t know your vehicle’s height.
❌ It won’t stop you from striking that low bridge up ahead.
That part is up to you.
Bridge strikes are 100% preventable.
