FROM GOVERNOR HOCHUL’S DEPUTY PRESS SECRETARY, JESS D’AMELIA: According to FEMA, the Town of Canisteo has been approved to apply for Public Assistance under DR-4825, the Presidential Disaster Declaration for Tropical Storm Debby. Under this program, applicants are able to be reimbursed by the federal government for up to 75 percent of certain costs associated with restoring infrastructure and public facilities following a disaster. Under FEMA’s Public Assistance program, the applicant is responsible for the remaining 25 percent.
