The Hartman Agency in Canisteo says they’re organizing a 5k/10k walk/run with all of the proceeds going to the Canisteo Community Support Group to help families in need. That will be held Saturday, September 28th at 9am at Elementary School in Canisteo.
After trying to find a way to help out in the community after the storm that devastated so many here in our town, I came up with the idea of a 5k/10k walk/run with all of the proceeds going to Canisteo Community Support Group to help families in need. Join us on Saturday, September 28th at 9am at Canisteo Elementary School to run or walk to help our neighbors in this time of need. The course will be the same as the Crazee Daze color run, and there will be finisher medals and t-shirts for everyone who registers by 9/13/2024.

Also, he United Way is looking for toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and similar items. Items can be dropped off to the United Way at 88 E. Tioga Avenue in Corning or arrange for a pick-up by calling 607-377-5834. Officials say they will distribute the items to local schools and youth centers where there is a need.
