ARKPORT, NY – At Tuesday’s Arkport Board of Education meeting, a flier was presented that will be sent to families within the district before the special election is held on January 30. Three people are running for the seat that was vacated by Jennifer Swarts in November; the three are David Mikolajczyk, Natalie Churchman, and Timothy Bailey. Also,, the school board discussed the upcoming April 8th solar eclipse. Superintendent Jesse Harper recommended that the board approve a half day for that date, with the potential for the usage of a snow day if the school doesn’t use a certain amount this year; the matter will be discussed further at the February meeting.
