Three Puppies Died After Being Thrown Over A Guardrail

August 13, 2016

HORNELL, NY – The Hornell Humane Society’s FB page has a message on it, that tells in detail how some puppies were thrown over a guardrail on Dennis Avenue, and it says that three of the four puppies died of their injuries. See Facebook posting below:

On Wednesday August 10th someone intentionally threw a cardboard shoebox with 4 newborn puppies over the guardrail on Dennis Avenue, Hornell. These puppies were only hours old (note the umbilical cord in pic 2) and the pictures you see are of the only ones remaining – 2 have already passed. Our vet tech is doing her best to save them but we are not optimistic.
We have reported this to both the Hornell Police Department and the Steuben County Sheriff Department Animal Cruelty Investigator but we also need your help.
If you know of anyone who might have done this please contact the Hornell Area Humane Society at (607)324-1270. Also please remember – we are here to help. If you find yourself in a position where you are unable to care for an animal reach out to us before it’s too late!

6:30pm – Update: The Humane Society’s Facebook page now reports that only one of the puppies is still alive.
