Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard has given commendations to two deputies for their life saving work in Avoca on March 4, in preventing a tractor trailer from going off a bridge there.
Sheriff Allard says deputies Brian Harrison and Ryan Andrews got the equipment there to pull the semi back up from hanging over the bridge, got the driver out of the cab, and protected the cars driving below the bridge, by contacting officials to close the road below the bridge.
