U.S. Marine Stationed Overseas Is Identity Theft Victim: Suspect From Livinston County

NUNDA, NY – A U.S. Marine, stationed in Italy, was the victim of identity theft.   The suspect who is accused of stealing the marine’s identity is a Livingston County resident.

The Nunda Police Department reports that Paul Nahalka, 26, of the Town of Hunt, is alleged to have used the Marine’s checks in stores in both Hornell and Nunda.  Officials with the Nunda Police Department report that Nahlaka was stationed at Camp Lejune with the Marine, and that Nahalka is alleged to have stolen the checks from the marine while they were both at Camp Lejune.

Nahalka is facing charges of forgery and identity theft.  He was remanded to Livingston County Jail, $5,000 bail.
