United Way Continues Their Work To Help Victims Of Debby Damage, Here In Steuben County

In Corning, United Way of the Southern Tier President Steve Hughes is working to help the Steuben County victims of Hurricane Debby property damage in places like Canisteo, Jasper, Woodhull, Addison and other towns. The United Way in Corning, there is collecting donations, both monetary and clothing and hygiene items. “When you think of the upwards of 25 to 30 homes, that have been completely devastated and removed from their foundations,” said Steve Hughes. “That’s as bad as it can get. The water damage, the loss of home utilities, the damage to water tanks, furnaces, flooring, carpeting, furniture, the whole range of things people rely on to live comfortably, have been affected the most,” said Hughes.

Also, it should be noted that Steuben County officials say if you have property damage and you’ve called the county’s 2-1-1 helpline, but have not heard back from them, to please try calling again.
