FROM CANISTEO MAYOR RECKTENWALD: “I have been working with Steuben County, Town of Canisteo, and New York State officials, to obtain assistance for folks needing help within the Village and outside the Village, in the Town. The Canisteo Village residents living near the levies, and some streets, have had water in the basements and yards. Many residents are trying to clean up and are finding damage to hot water tanks, boilers, etc. The water treatment plant was totally under water but we were able to gain access today, and everything is now up and running with generators. We have numerous agencies arriving over the next few days to assist residents in whatever they may need and the list will be posted with details tomorrow.”
