The New York Times, Reuters and other media outlets, are reporting that two human rights activists lawyers in China were just given decade long prison sentences and sent to unknown locations. One of the human rights activist’s names is Ding Jiaxi, and Ding’s wife Sophie Luo, lives in Alfred. Sophie told Reuters she is working with the U.S. state department about the long sentencing, which is 12 years for her husband. Sophie also told Reuters that in China, her husband Ding Jiaxi, does not dare say what prison he is being sent to or what the exact charges against him were.
