HORNELL, NY – It’s been talked about for some time now: what to do with the old St. James Hospital building on Canisteo Street in Hornell? Appearing on the Newsmaker Show this morning, Hornell Mayor John Buckley spoke of three possible options: (1) Trinity Health sells it, (2) Trinity Health does a demolition of the old hospital site, and (3) some of the old site could be sold to the City of Hornell. “Whether it stands or it gets demo’d and redeveloped into something else, we’ll wait and see,” Buckley said.
“One of the ideas that I’ve had, and I’ve actually talked to Trinity about this, is for the city to aquire some of the parking lots surrounding the building.”
