Vada Mae Gage, formerly of Hornell

MIDDLETOWN, DEL./HORNELL-Vada Mae Gage, 86, passed away on Dec. 16, 2016 at her home in Middletown, Del.

Born in Hornell on June 23, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Valora (Croser) Gay. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Ruth Collingwood.

A graduate of Hornell High School, Vada received her bachelor’s degree from Keuka College.

She was a former resident of Hornell, Maryland and Rochester where she was employed at one time by the Eastman Kodak Co. After her marriage to Gerald H. Gage she assisted him the operation of his Mutual of Omaha Insurance Office in Middletown, Del.

Her loving family includes her husband of 60 years, Gerald, who she married at the former Park United Methodist Church in Hornell; her two sons, Michael Gage of Wilmington, Del. And Jeffrey (Penny) Gage of West Va.; her two grandsons, Tyler and Steven Gage; as well as one niece.

The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St. in Hornell is honored to assist the family of Vada Mae Gage.

A graveside service will be held in her memory at 11 a.m. on Saturday (May 13, 2017) at the Fairview Cemetery in Towelsville.
