Richard Vangorden Is Resentenced

April 27, 2017

BATH, NY – In January of 2012, Richard Vangorden of Addison, fired gunshots at two state troopers on County Route 66 in the Town of Hornellsville, both of the troopers, Tom Khork and Joshua Bacon survived uninjured. The latest in the case is that the Evening Tribune reports that even though the New York State Appeals Court recently reduced Vangorden’s two convictions from 1st degree attempted murder to 2nd degree attempted murder, that Vangorden was just resentenced again by Steuben County Court Judge Joe Latham. The Tribune reports that things did not get better for Vangorden, because he was given 40 years once again by Judge Latham. Neal Simon in the Tribune described it as a major victory for the district attorney’s office and a major defeat for Vangorden.
