HORNELL, NY – William (Bill) H. Dugan Jr., 85, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 10th after a brief illness. Bill was born in Elmira in 1933 and graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1951. After completing High School, Bill immediately entered the Marine Corps serving from 1952 to 1955. After military duties, Bill joined the Erie Lackawanna Railroad and eventually Conrail transferring to Hornell in 1963.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William H. Dugan Sr. and Ann Gomoski Dugan, two sisters, Francis Huntone and Peggy Firman, and his wife of 54 years, Betty Defabrizio Dugan, who died in 2009.
He is survived by one brother, Robert Dugan and his wife Debbie, two children, William H. Dugan 3rd and Marty Dugan, and many nieces and nephews.
At Bills request there will be no calling hours and private service will be held for him and his wife at the Bath VA Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made through the Bishop and Johnson Funeral Home.
