Paving Work Begins Along State Route 36 in Steuben County
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of lane closures that will be in place along State Route 36 in the towns of Canisteo and Hornellsville, Steuben County, beginning Thursday, September 10, to facilitate a pavement rehabilitation project. Work will take place to resurface approximately four miles of pavement along Route 36 between the city of Hornell and village of Canisteo, which is expected to last through the end of September. During this time, two-way traffic will be maintained using single lane closures. Motorists may experience delays during this time. No detours will be posted.
Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
