Alfred Mayor Proposes Downtown Alfred Urgent Care

Possible Urgent Care Clinic For Alfred
January 15, 2014

Alfred Village Mayor Justin Grigg (D) announced this week that he just discussed an idea with both Alfred University and Alfred State presidents.

Grigg’s idea: having urgent care clinic in downtown Alfred, that Alfred residents and the university and state college could all use. “A centralized urgent health care center, for both campuses, their communities, and the local community.” Grigg says he thinks that integrating the colleges with community residents is important. “I think that’s key, should that possibly happen, because I think the previous attempts have tried to fill the slot, just like so many things, they fill the Main Street slot,” said Grigg. “They’re looking at the local community, and the campus populations, the student populations, I don’t think they were as plugged in.”
