CUBA, NY – Allegany County State Police have charged Thomas M. Wight, 26 of Cuba, with Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Troopers report that on June 10, they were informed of a possible sexual abuse case. According to state police, Wight taught at Dansville School and started “Snapchatting” a 16-year-old, and that while teaching at Arkport Central School, Wight allegedly forcibly touched a 16-year-old, off school property.
School districts affected in this investigation have been notified. Wight was arraigned in the Town of Friendship and remanded to Allegany County Jail on $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
Wight also taught at Cuba-Rushford and Fillmore Central Schools in the past. State Police report that it is believed that there are more victims.
