At the Arkport Central Board of Education meeting last night, the school board formally appointed Matt McGarrity as the Interim Superintendent of Schools. This ensures a smooth leadership transition as the district continues its work to support students, staff, and the community. “Over the past 34 years, McGarrity has held positions as alternative high school teacher, curriculum coordinator, principal, personnel director and superintendent in both small and large local school districts,” school officials said. “McGarrity retired from the Orchard Park Central School District as Superintendent in 2021. Since then, he has been working with various BOCES in different capacities.”
