“About 14% of Steuben residents have completed their COVID-19 vaccine series,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “Unfortunately that is a very low number in comparison with nearby counties and is not a high enough rate to protect the majority of our residents. If you’re interested in being vaccinated, we recommend you take the first available appointment. We have a clinic scheduled for tomorrow, April 2 in Canisteo with open spots and will put out information on next week’s clinic as soon as it is finalized.”

All residents should continue to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills or repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell and contact their healthcare provider for instructions if feeling ill.
