For many years she was employed as bookkeeper for J.C. Penney in Hornell and after her retirement she began her employment with Off Track Betting (OTB) in Hornell, a position she held until the age of 86.

Ernestine will be remembered for her “spit fire” personality and her ability to let someone know how she felt about any situation. Her love of pizza, Coor’s Light and chocolate was well known by all who loved and cared for her. She often said she never met a piece of chocolate she didn’t love.
