Bath Mother Is Accused Of 2nd Degree Manslaughter For The Death Of Her Two Week Old Baby

BATH, NY – A mother in Bath is accused of manslaughter in the second degree, for the death of her own young baby. Steuben County D.A. Brooks Baker tells WLEA News that the suspect is Cherrokee Cheyanne Shull, who was charged with manslaughter 2nd, and processed then remanded to the Steuben County Jail to await Cap arraignment.

The investigation began, after the baby was found dead by Bath State Police and Bath Ambulance crews. That was on February 3.

According to the district attorney, the baby’s cause of death was asphixiation. The child was smothered or deprived of oxygen in some other way.

The baby’s name was Scarlett, and she was two weeks old.
