HORNELL, NY – Well known Hornell businessman, Bruce W. Ingersoll, 63, of 6434 County Route 68, passed away unexpectedly Saturday (May 3, 2014) at his home.

Born in Salamanca, , March 14, 1951, the son of Howard and Edna Geiger Ingersoll, he had resided in Salamanca his early life, and in Hornell since the late 1970’s.

Bruce was employed as manager of the Hornell Furniture Outlet (HFO) and was a well known and respected musician. He had been involved in several bands over the years, including Scorpio, Flexx, Moondance, Roadhouse, The Rogues and at the time of his death, Meat Cutters Union. Bruce played lead guitar and was a vocalist,

He was predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters, Alberta Terhune, Sharon Jones and Carol Hartman, and 2 brothers, Howard and David Ingersoll.

He is survived by his wife, Sophie Hoyt Ingersoll of Hornell, his daughter, Brittany (Matthew) Jimenez of North Carolina, his sons, Shawn (Casey) Hoyt of Canandaigua and Kyle Ingersoll also of Canandaigua, 2 sisters, Almeda Jerome of Canandaigua and Patricia Kmety of Jefferson, Texas, one brother, Edward (Martie) Ingersoll of Ft. Myers, Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion “Jack”.

Honoring Bruce’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
