HORNELL, NY – Hornell Police Chief Ted Murray says, the explosion that happened on November 18th during the Preston Avenue house fires in Hornell was actually the sound of a grill tank that exploded after it caught on fire, on a porch, at the first house that caught on fire that day. Many at the scene, and many locally, had wondered what the big explosion noise was caused by, during those fires.
