HORNELL, NY – Hornell Mayor John Buckley recognized DPW foreman Rob Guy in his monthly “Spotlight” program for July.
Guy, who has been a city employee for 12 years, said he has many job functions and according to Buckley and DPW Supervisor Mitch Cornish, perform all of them above expectations.
Asked what motivates him day to day, Guy’s response was that he just plain likes what he does. “There is a great bunch of guys here at the city that I work with, and they make my job a lot easier.”
Buckley stated, “Rob has the unique ability to really see through the fog and find the best road to clarity. When things are going haywire, whether it’s a water break, sewer issue, or a snowstorm, Rob is the guy we rely on to keep people on task and get from where we are, to where we need to be.”
