Congressman Reed Disagrees With Obama Keystone Decision

November 7, 2015

Congressman Tom Reed has issued the following statement about the Obama Keystone announcement:

I am opposed to President Obama’s decision to reject the Keystone XP pipeline.
This pipeline would have created thousands of jobs, reduced energy costs and improved our energy security. As a result of this bad decision, millions of dollars in private investment and thousands of good paying jobs will be lost. Without Keystone the United States will continue to depend on foreign oil from unstable countries in the Middle East and Canada will export their excess oil to countries like China.
This is yet another example of the failed extreme liberal agenda that my opponent was a part of when he worked at the White House. This decision is bad for the environment, bad for our economy and bad for our national security and as a result, I will continue to fight for the Keystone XL pipeline and for the development of our domestic energy resources.
