December 2021, Upcoming Covid Clinics

December 6, 2021

From Steuben County Public Health:

Pediatric Pfizer vaccine is available tomorrow, Tuesday, December 7 at the Hornell Intermediate School Cafeteria from **3:45 – 7:00 pm.** Hours have been extended! Register your children, ages 5 – 11, for their shot at www.steubencony.org/covid
Both first and second doses will be offered at this clinic. Remember, that the second dose must be at least 3 weeks after the first dose. We cannot give second doses early.

Also, the Steuben County Public Health Department is hosting two booster-only COVID vaccine clinics on Wednesday, December 8th from 10 AM to 4 PM and Wednesday, December 15th from 12 PM to 6 PM at the Civil Defense Training Center located at 7220 State Route 54 in Bath.

Participants must pre-register at www.steubencony.org/covid. No walk ins will be accepted. Anyone age 18 or older is eligible for a booster. Those who originally received Johnson & Johnson can get boosted starting two months after their initial dose. Those who originally completed the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series can get boosted starting six months after their second dose.

“Boosters are a great way to add another layer of protection during this time of high COVID spread in Steuben,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “With indoor gatherings typical this time of year, we strongly encourage everyone to get vaccinated for a safe and healthy holiday season.”

Steuben residents age 60 and older who have trouble registering online can get help registering through the Steuben County Office for the Aging (OFA) by calling 607-664-2298. OFA is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

All vaccines are completely free to participants, and free transportation to clinics is also available through 211.

All clinic attendees must wear appropriate face coverings and are expected to wait 15-30 minutes after vaccination for observation. Attendees should wear short sleeves or appropriate clothing for vaccination and bring their vaccine card or proof of vaccination dates.

Those currently under isolation or quarantine at the time of the clinic due to a positive COVID-19 test result or as a contact to a positive are not eligible to attend the clinic.
