The Steuben County Public Health Department received notification of the death of an individual who had previously tested positive for COVID. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Steuben County to 249. The individual was a male resident of the City of Hornell who died at the age of 55. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the gentleman who has passed,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “Please continue to follow all COVID-prevention strategies during this high time of spread.”
Also, there have been 223 new cases of COVID. Of these positives, 106 more have recovered. 67% of the cases are not vaccinated. Of the cases who are hospitalized, 68% are not vaccinated.
Multiple of today’s positives are associated with Thanksgiving gatherings (10), and the following school districts: Addison (3), Hornell (7), Corning-Painted Post (9), Arkport (4), Canisteo-Greenwood (4), and Bath (5).
