See full statement below:

Assemblyman Joseph Errigo (R,C,I,Ref-Conesus) announced five libraries in the 133rd Assembly District have been selected by the New York State Library and New York State Education Department for construction projects. These projects are supported by a $24 million capital fund appropriation in the 2017-18 State Budget for construction and renovation of public libraries and public library systems in New York State.

“Libraries are the center of continued learning for adults and a resource for young learners, which make them critically important to continue investing in,” said Errigo. “These funds will help the libraries repair roofs, upgrade lighting, become more energy efficient and improve air conditioning and heating systems. Healthy libraries are at the center of every healthy community, and by securing these grants we move toward a stronger future. I look forward to the future success these funds will undoubtedly bring to our communities.”

The following are the libraries selected as well as the amount of funding and repairs to be made:

• The Rush Public Library will receive $38,156 for an all-weather awning for sidewalks from parking lots;
• The Mount Morris Library will receive $14,345 to replace air conditioners, the furnace and repair the chimney;
• The Wadsworth Library will receive $71,019 to replace the roof and repair the damaged concrete apron at the front entrance;
• The Cohocton Public Library will receive $11,000 to replace single-pane windows with insulated double-pane windows; and
• The Wayland Free Library will receive $37,080 to replace the HVAC system, lighting, security cameras and other interior renovations.
