MOUNT MORRIS, NY – Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty says there was a fatal accident involving three vehicles, in the 8am hour this morning on Route 36 in Mount Morris. Officials say that a commercial passenger van that was occupied by thirteen people, was struck from behind by another vehicle. Dead is Susan Migliore, 67, Nunda. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The twelve passengers of the van along with the driver, who were on their way back from a sight seeing excursion from Niagara Falls, were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Sheriff Dougherty says that the van was filled with tourists from China, who were visiting the U.S.
At least one of the occupants from the van had serious physical injury which included a broken femur, broken lumbar, and several broken ribs and remains in guarded condition.
All others from the van were injured at some level, ranging from broken bones or contusions.
The staff at Strong Memorial is still evaluating the injuries.
