Gov. Hochul’s Lt. Gov Will Be Senator Brian Benjamin

August 25, 2021

It appears that State Senator Brian Benjamin (D, Harlem) will be Governor Kathy Hochul’s lt governor. Hochul has sent out an email saying that she and Senator Benjamin are going to make an announcement at 1pm Thursday afternoon. Checking out Senator Brian Benjamin’s website, it appears that his big issues are police accountability and overcrowded jails.

Statement From Republican Candidate For Governor, Congressman Lee Zeldin:

“Wildly out of touch move by Kathy Hochul that while New Yorkers are hitting their breaking points due to Albany’s constant attacks on their wallets, safety and freedoms, Andrew Cuomo’s former Lieutenant picks a Lieutenant of her own – State Senator Brian Benjamin – who championed cashless bail, fought to defund the police, ushered into law the highest taxes in the country for many New Yorkers and so many other disastrous policies! Hochul should have instead been selecting a Lieutenant Governor committed to supporting law enforcement more, not less, making life in New York more affordable, not less, protecting individuals freedoms more, not less, and advancing other common sense positions that this pick is all wrong on.”
