This past Thursday, the Board of Public Safety reviewed a proposed School District project where the street know as Red Raider Drive would be closed to through traffic as part of a redesign of the High School campus. The Board tabled the issue citing numerous safety concerns from the Fire and Police departments.
“At this point, there are many questions that need answers,” said Mayor Buckley. “We plan to meet with District officials in the coming weeks to get clarification on key components of their proposal. Public safety is always paramount and we need to make sure any changes won’t impede Police and Fire in the case of an emergency.”
