Hornell Common Council Approves Teamster Contract, And Bond For A New Fire Engine

The Hornell Common Council is sending a resolution to Albany about AIM (municipal) funding. Mayor John Buckley says there has not been an increase in AIM funding in 15 years.

The mayor’s secretary Amy Patrick is resigning from the clerk’s position. She will continue on as secretary. Holly Snyder was voted in by the council as the new clerk and registrar of vital statistics. Snyder is also now the marriage officer.

A bond resolution was passed by the council for the new fire engine being bought from a company in Pennsylvania, which was manufactured in Florida. It’s a $750,000 bond. The new fire engine is replacing a 20 year old pumper. There is another pumper on order. It will be in hornell by mid-December.

The Teamsters contract has been approved by the council as well. This is a raise for the dpw workers.
Four percent for the first year which is this year
Three percent for 2025
Three and half percent for 2026.
