HORNELL, NY – Hornell fireman Joel Guthrie was recognized by Mayor John Buckley for his outstanding service to the HFD Thursday afternoon for the month of November. Buckley currently recognizes a city employee each month for their outstanding service to the city.
Guthrie has been a member of the HFD for over 6 years and previously was previously a general contractor. According to Chief Dan Smith, Guthrie has recently received his EMT certification and is a pillar in the fire department’s workforce. He is a graduate of HHS and aspires to have a long career in Hornell as a fireman.
