HORNELL, NY – State Police and the Steuben County District Atttorney’s Office are reporting that Hornell Police Officer Jennifer Speed, 39, has been charged for allegedly stealing $15,000 in cash
from the Hornell Police Department.

The charges against Speed are grand larceny in the third degree, tampering with business records in the first degree, falsifying business records in the first degree, and tampering with physical evidience.

The money was discovered as missing from the Hornell Police Department in June of this year.
Speed was remanded to Steuben County Jail without bail.
