HORNELL N.Y.- Mayor Shawn D. Hogan convened a meeting of the quality of life committee tonight, on the agenda; Fiber optic high speed internet, cable and telephone access.
A company named Empire Access is looking to run fiber into the homes of Hornell residents thereby entering into competition with Time Warner, for cable and internet access. The Fiber optic cable has far greater speeds than the cable (road runner) or Verizon’s dsl access. Hogan announced that company reps will be on hand for the October 20th meeting of the common council, with a public forum on that same night beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Hornell City hall.
