The world has lost a beautiful soul.
Janice Whitman Raish of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Hornell, NY and North Topsail Beach, N.C. passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 31, 2018.
Janice was born in October of 1956 to Miriam and Jack Whitman of Hornell. In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Larry Raish. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Tiffany Tyler and son-in-law Dustin McIntee of Asheville N.C., two sisters, Nancy (Robert) Campbell of Charlottesville, VA and Mary (Michael) Walden of Raleigh, N.C., in addition to her partner, Bernard Cox of Hebron, KY, as well as the Raish Family and many special friends she has gathered along the way, too numerous to count.
Janice was a member of the Hornell Senior High School Class of 74 and will be remembered for her ebullient smile, positive attitude and caring, selfless spirit. She was an avid flamingo collector and loved all animals. In that spirit, she has asked for no calling hours or service; rather, in lieu of flowers or cards, please donate to the Hornell Humane Society or any animal shelter of your choice in memory of Janice.
