Jean F. Campbell, of Hornell

HORNELL – Jean F. Campbell, 87, a resident of Updyke’s Willow Ridge Quality Care Facility, formerly of Green Acres Trailer Court, was welcomed into Heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 26, 2014.

A native & life resident of Hornell, she was born June 7, 1926, the daughter of Ambrose & Helen (Bennett) Smith.

Jean was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1944). For over 20 years she worked in many capacities at the former Spencer Print Shop in Hornell. She later was employed in the Customer Service Department at New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG), retiring in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda J. Mullen; her son, Robert L. Campbell; and her brother, Thomas A. Smith.

Surviving are her son, Thomas (Billie) Campbell of Panama City, FL; her daughter-in-law, Kim Campbell of Navarre, FL; 4 granddaughters, Kelly (Robert) Gable, Crystal (Caleb) Phillips, Jennifer (Scott) Palladino and Lisa (Mark) Porzio; 7 great-grandchildren, Georgia Rose Phillips, Caleb Phillips Jr, Elizabeth Gable, Laurel Gable, Emily Palladino, Domenic Palladino and Cameron Porzio; her longtime loving companion, Kenneth Swift of Dansville; many nieces & nephews.

At Jean’s request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating.

Jean’s family would like to thank all of the wonderful friends, family & caregivers who helped and cared for her —- especially Tom & Pat Campbell, Barbara Todd, Eileen Drake and all of the wonderful staff at Updyke’s.
