Ruth E. Crane, of Cameron

CAMERON: Ruth E. Crane, 87, of County Route 119, passed away peacefully Monday (May 26, 2014) at her home surrounded by the comfort, care and love of her family, after an extended illness.

Ruth was born April 8, 1927 in Hornell to Myron and Rachel (Miller) Campbell. On June 17, 1947 in Bath, she married Truman J. Crane who predeceased her in January of 2007.She was also predeceased by two brothers; Wilford and Merton Campbell and two sisters: Phyllis Hoad and Dorothy Turner.

Ruth had been an inspector for Corning Glass for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife mother and grandmother who loved to cook and sew and just spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by three daughters: Jean (Terry) Dieter of Cameron, JoAnn (Lauren) Taylor of Cameron Mills and Tonia Crane of Elmira, two sons: Joseph (Cindy) Crane of Addison and John (Bobbi) Crane of Hammondsport. Ruth is also survived by two sisters -n-law: Olga Campbell of Patterson and Carol Campbell of California, 12 grand children, 14 great grand children, 6 great, great, grand children and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM Thursday at the H. P Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo, where funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hrs. at 3 PM. Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Cameron Mills.
